The finials and bracket decoration is distressed by hand to allow areas of the red base coat to show through, resulting in an ‘aged’ appearance. Available up to 4 metres long (Please call if you require longer)  The Acanthus leaf was adopted in the early renaissance and has become the most widely used type of foliage ornament. It is based on the leaves of the Mediterranean species 'Acanthus Spinosis' and appears in many forms  from the early, more elaborate Roman styles, to a more naturalistic representaion.
